Annie C. “Kathy” Lietz, age 61, of Hammond, entered into the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

She is survived by her four children: Christopher (Lucille) Lietz Sr., Heather (Allan) Lietz, Ashley (Matt) Lietz, and Matthew Lietz; three stepchildren: William Lietz Jr., Monique (Jim) Di Marzio, Candace (William) Schlicklin; six Grandchildren: Alexis Lietz, Faith Hebein, Christopher Lietz Jr., Destiny Lietz, Anton Hebein, Blake Samuel; seven step-grandchildren: Eric Lietz, Daniel Lietz, Amanda Dennis, Brian Dennis, Sophia Schlicklin, Grace Schlicklin, William Schlicklin; two Sisters: Carol (George) Tagler, Helen “Dolores” Belser; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by parents Harold and Julia O’Dell; two children Michael and Shawn Lietz; one sister Julia Dunmore.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Ferry officiating. Interment private. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).

Kathy was born in Big Springs, Texas; she grew up on the East Side of Chicago and then moved to the Hammond area 35 years ago. Kathy enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cubs and the Colts. Amongst other hobbies and activities, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing bingo in her free time. Above all she loved the gathering times with the family to share stories and spend time together. Kathy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
