Bernadine Y. Kallas, age 39, of LaPorte, formerly of Hammond, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 3, 2016.

She is survived by her loving husband of four years, Christopher G. Kallas; three children: Steven F. Malacina, Samuel Malacina and Emily Kallas; parents: Dennis Arnold, Sr. and Laurie (Ed) Kornacki; siblings: Keith Arnold, Jr. and Brenda (Ron) Uylaki; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceeded in death by her sister, Rebecca “Becky” Urbina.

A Memorial Service to celebrate he life of Bernadine Kallas will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).

Bernadine was a lifetime resident of Hammond, and a 1995 graduate of Morton High School. She enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with her children.  “Happie” as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was a “kid” at heart. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
