Danny Ray Saldaña was suddenly called in to the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Calumet City, Illinois at the age of 58. Danny was born on August 20, 1958 in Hondo, Texas. He was a graduate of Natalia High School in 1977 and went on to move to Hammond, Indiana. He worked for Gelita USA in Calumet City for 38 years. He was an avid Cowboys and Spurs fan. Danny was well known for his quiet demeanor but friendly personality. He was a faithful church member at Cline Avenue Fellowship Church and a faithful friend to so many.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Consuelo Navarro Saldaña; paternal grandparents, Miguel and Jovita Saldaña and maternal grandparents; Geronimo and Guadalupe Navarro.  Danny is survived by his father Albert Saldaña of Natalia, sister Gilda Saldaña of San Antonio and brother Ralph Saldaña of Natalia.  Nephews; Derik and Lance Hartley, Mark, Justin and Braylon Saldaña and a niece; Clarissa Hartley, Great-Nephew, Caleb Saldaña, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and a multitude of friends and coworkers in northwest Indiana.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Cline Avenue Fellowship Church, 8600 Cline Avenue, Highland, IN. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Best officiating. All family and friends are invited to a fellowship meal in honor of Danny following the Memorial Service until 8 p.m.
