Ernestina Villanueva, age 92, of Crown Point, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 21, 2018.
She is survived by her one grandson: Christian (Amelia) Wilson; two brothers: Romiro (Beatriz) Camarena and Jose (Lucia) Camarena; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Cruz Villanueva; daughter, Magdalena “Maggie” (Roger) Villanueva-Wilson; parents, Trinidad and Guadalupe Camarena.
Tina was born in Uriangato, Guanajuto, Mexico on November 29, 1925. She settled in East Chicago in 1954 where she made her home until moving to Crown Point Christian Village three years ago and made many new friends. Tina enjoyed cooking for her family and was a faithful member of Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with viewing from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John-St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Hammond,IN Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond, (Hessville) on Monday, March 26th from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.
