Erwin Rogers, age 71, of Hammond, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Shirley Rogers (nee Farmer); three sons: Greg (Kelly), Brian (Jackie) and Nicholas (Nicole) Rogers; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Antrim; ten grandchildren: two great grandchildren; mother in-law, Madeline Farmer and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his son, Jason M. Rogers; parents, James and Catharina Rogers; father in-law, Jordan Farmer.
Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond (Hessville) on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.. Burial will be private.
Erwin came to the Calumet Area from Germany at the age of 14. He graduated from Highland High School, class of 1965. He was a retired machine operator having worked at several companies including Blaw-Knox. Dwayne, as he was affectionately known was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a dear friend who will be greatly missed. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball and spending time at the campground where he would fish, and was the reigning champion at corn hole. Dwayne cherished his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and cheering on his favorite teams the Chicago Bears and Cubs. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
