Frances “Fanny” Schmunk, age 95, formerly of Black Oak, entered into the gates of Heaven on Monday, January 9, 2017.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends including her Bunco babes.
Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Gotfred Schmunk, parents, Frank and Katherine Horszt and siblings: Max, Chester and Frank Sajdera, Mary Johnson, Wanda Kliza, Helen Rechlicz, Lillian White, Adeline Monik and Leonard Horszt.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Father Steve Kosinski officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.
Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Friday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.
Fanny was a lifetime area resident. She will be remembered by many for her friendliness and love for the game of Bunco.
