Josephine E.N. Ando, age 82, of Hessville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2017.

 She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Albert Robert Ando; two daughters Darlene J. Waite and Lucille A. Schuster; six grandchildren: Tobias Depew, Sandy (Chris) Tyssen, Adam Depew, Ryan Depew, Rob (Shelly) Waite Jr., Lisa (Jan) Dalichow; seven great grandchildren: Hannah, Emily and Mackenzie Tyssen, Gabrielle and Emeline Dalichow and Steven and Josephine Waite;

Preceded in death by two sons: Robert “Corkey” Ando and Steven Ando; parents: Joseph and Alice Joy; two brothers: Courtney and John Joy.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Josephine “the Candy Store Lady” will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, (Hessville) with Pastor Phil Humber, officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a memorial visitation on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Josephine was born in East Chicago, IN, was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School. She and her husband Albert owned and operated the Country Images Candy Store in Hessville from 1980 until 2011,where they brought much joy to many children. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to assist with memorial expenses.
