A year has now come and gone. I feel you near me every day. I dream of you, I talk to you, I tell my daughter and my grandchildren stories of you. We share your recipes, we share the wonderful hugs you taught us to give. I ask your advice, now that you have the wisdom of the ages, and pray for you to be our guardian angel. I know you are. I love you more than ever.β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»πŸ‘ΌπŸ»

So long, until we meet again. I was always delighted when you came to Gas City to visit Grandma Mamie, for I knew we were going to have some great times playing together. You were the grand master of tumbling and taught Jack and I how to do the back flips and how to "take a fall". Most fun was our games of hide and seek in the evening twilight. and our ghost story telling in the vacant lot next to the Barton place. You taught much. I will never forget you Cousin Jo. Rest in peace and love. Bill

Lucy and Darlene:
There's just too much to say. Your mom was there for two sad little twins in a way it is hard to imagine. She loved children and I'll never forget the hours of projects she devised for us. She was fun!! Mine and Donna's lives were enriched by her kindness, interest and sense of decency.
Please know that all of my dreams and memories involve you two, with your mother always in the background, hollering out that we should get in the sprinkler or put on a play--and ready to dispense a hug or a whak to you guys, and to us.
I'm far away and couldn't attend the services. But I have been saddened in a deep way by Josephine's death.
Her personality reaches all the way to the Pacific Coast!
Of course I am overwhelmed and sorry for your loss. But I am also glad for both of you--for what you had in her.
My love to you both--Wanda

My best childhood memories revolve around Country Images. Slushies, Penny Candy, piles of bikes, and tire swings... Miss Joy took such good care of us when we were at her store, it was a place where we felt safe and worryfree, just as a child should.
May she rest and God bless her family her family with peace.

Your mom was always sweet, caring and kind me. After wrecking on my bike and scratching up my face, I visited the candy store and she told me to apply aloe to my face. She broke off a piece of her aloe plant and gave it to me. She told me to squeeze the aloe directly on the scabs and it would help heal and not cause scars on my face.i did this and I do not have any scars because of it. I will never forget that!!! Thank you so much Joy.

Miss Josephine was such an huge part of not just my childhood but every child I knew in Hessville. She was always so kind and patient with every person I ever saw her come in contact with. She knew all of us by name and seemed to care for us all. Most kids I knew, now grown, would even make it a point to stop in with their kids or just say hello from time to time when visiting from out of town. I know many of us will be keeping her family in our thoughts. RIP.
