Marjorie ”Marge”Emmajane Borchardt

Marjorie “Marge” Emmajane Borchardt, age 89, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2017.

She is survived by her two daughters: Carolyn Borchardt and Kathy Borchardt; two sons: Bob (Therese) Borchardt and Ted (Janet) Borchardt; eight grandchildren: Bob (Allison) Borchardt, Elizabeth (Peter) Celauro, Christine (Cory) Abramowicz, Jenny (Adam) Johnson, Jessie (Paul) Krueger, William, George and Chris Borchardt; ten great grandchildren; one sister: Evelyn Williams; many nieces, nephews, and friends including “adopted” daughter Mary Zelencik.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert W. “Bob” Borchardt; parents: Joseph and Estella Graham; brother: Lloyd Graham; sisters: Thelma (Bob) Northrup and Edythe (Leo) Shryock and brother in-law James Williams.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Marge was a life long resident of the region. She worked at Guaranteed Reserve Insurance and was retired from Fairmeadow Church of the Nazarene in Munster, as office secretary. Marge was a faithful member of Living Grace Church in Merrillville. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, knitting and crocheting. Marge was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. To honor her memory, call your parents, visit them, hug them and tell them you love them.
