Nora Marie Mann, age 91, of Hammond, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday June 8, 2016.

She is survived by 3 children: Karen (Oscar) Mann, Douglas Mann and Gail Repay; dear friends: Marge and Mike Repay and David Kopanda; grandchildren: Stacey (Ray) Sinde, Nicole (Aaron) Kreke, Nicholas Mann, Benjamin Mann; 2 great grandchildren: Lucas Kreke and Kylie Sinde; and numerous friends.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 27 years, Kenneth Lee Mann; grandson, Nathan Mann; parents, Roy and Katherine Snyder; one sister, Dorothy Campbell.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave., Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Alex Stone officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Crown Point. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Nora was a lifetime resident of Hammond. She earned a masters degree in education from Purdue University and was a member of the Alumni Association. She was a faithful member of Woodmar United Methodist Church and a member of the Ladies circle. Nora loved to golf and belonged to Sherwood Country Club. She was very active in her community and was a past precinct committeewoman. She was employed for the School City of Hammond and taught Home EC at Morton High, Hammond Tech High and Gavit High School. Nora was an excellent cook, she loved gardening and watching baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and the Purdue Boilermakers. She was a loving, devoted, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials in Nora’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
