Robert B. Cruse, age 81, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2016.

He is survived by 2 sons: John (Michelle) Cruse,

Donald (Kathy) Cruse;

4 Grandchildren: Amanda, Robert (Brittany), Kasie and Carlie Cruse; 4 great grandchildren: Aubrey, Jeremy Jr., Olivia, Braydon; 4 brothers: Leon (Helen) Cruse, Bill (Bobbie) Cruse, Buster (late, Dorothy) Cruse; Jamie (Pat) Cruse; sister, Louise (Jerry) Wilbanks; sister-in-law, Juanita Cruse; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosa Marie Cruse on July 12, 2014; daughter, Margaret Faye; son, Robert Neal; brother, Les Cruse; parents, Woodrow and Carlie Cruse.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. directly at Cornerstone Baptist Church, formerly Orchard Drive, 3425 Orchard Drive, Hammond, Hessville with Pastor Scott Ferry officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Crown Point. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, July 28, 2016 for a time of visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).  There will be a time of viewing at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Robert has been a resident of the Calumet Area for the past 60 years. A faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, formerly Orchard Drive Baptist Church; where he served as Chairman of Trustees. Buddy has served in many other areas of the ministry during the past 50 years. He was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord and served Him willingly. He enjoyed fixing things and was employed as a maintenance worker at Kenwood Apartments for 15 years, following his retirement from LTV Steel. Buddy had a great personality and always had a story to tell. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.
