Wanda June Pitts, age 83, of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on Saturday June 4, 2016.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Eula Pitts;  3 children: Kenneth Lee (Deborah) Pitts, Maria Diane (Michael) Makarewich, Gloria June (Robert  Robbins; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren whom she dearly loved; one sister: Betty Jewel Lewis; many dearly beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents: Warnie and Stella Mae Caudill; three brothers: Edward, Jarlies and Franklin Caudill.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave., Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor John Clement officiating.

A committal service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from Bocken Funeral Home with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home. Wanda was born and raised in Auxier, Kentucky and moved to Hammond in 1952.  She faithfully served her Lord Savior along side of her husband Eula at Woodmar Baptist Church since October 1965. Wanda worked in the kitchen during VBS and other fellowships, she rode and helped in the church bus ministry and faithfully attended Sunday School and Worship services.

Wanda’s world revolved around her family, and she dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a loving, devoted, loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her family will remember her as ” best cook ever.”
