Robert A. Lail, age 87, formerly of Hammond passed away peacefully on Monday, July19, 2010.
He is survived by his son, David Lail of Plainfield, IL
Daughter, Marianne (Raymond) Reel of Highland
2 Grandchildren: David and Deanne Reel
3 Brothers: Bill (late, Mary) Lail of Galatia, IL
Donald (Donna) Lail of Cedar Lake, IN and
Charles (Doris) Lail of Schererville, IN
2 Sisters-in-law: Ellen Lail of Logansport, IN and
Anna Fee of Morristown, TN
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Bina Reynolds Lail, one daughter; Robin, his parents; Robert D. and Opal Lail, 2 sisters; Elaine Englebright and Lenora Lail, 4 brothers; Thomas (Nurisha), Norman, James (Donna) and John (Carroll)Lail and 1 sister-in-law; Zanada (Robert) Stark.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11AM with a time of viewing from 10:00 a.m. until the service DIRECTLY at First Baptist Church Main Auditorium, 473 Sibley, Hammond with Dr. Jack Schaap and Dr. Johnny Colsten officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, July 23rd at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Bob was born and raised in Carrier Mills, IL and has been a resident of the Calumet Area and a member of First Baptist Church since 1956. Bob taught Sunday School in the Primary 2 Dept. for over 25 years, was an usher for over 40 years, worked in the baptistery, member of the Best Years Club and served on the board of deacons for over 40 years, he is presently Deacon Emeritus.
Bob retired in 1982 from Ford Motor Co., a proud union member, he worked for over 25 years on the assembly line.
