Donnie Ray Belle, age 61, of South Deering, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2024, after a courageous battle against cancer.

He is survived by his birth mother, Frances Redsville; and beloved mom, Edna Boykin; siblings: Kim (Bob) Esquivel, Terry (Mike) Brown, Scott Belle, Darryl Boykin and Delphia Boykin; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and the best of friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Ricci Belle; siblings: Ricci Belle Jr. and Sherry Belle.

Cremation has taken place per Donnie’s wishes. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a memorial visitation on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, IN 46323.  A Prayer Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. with Father Charles Mosley officiating.

Donnie grew up in Slag Valley but was a long-time resident of the South Deering region, he was self employed as a caregiver and handyman. Donnie enjoyed hanging out with his buddies and many times working on repair projects together. He was a sports fan of all the Chicago teams. Donnie had a heart to help others whether it was tending to the garden or making repairs he was there. He was a faithful man who was blessed to be surrounded by a group of faithful friends and family that have stood by him until the end.
