Alice Graban, age 88, of Hammond passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Gene Graban; two sons: Brian and Garry Graban; grandson,
Michael Graban; sister-in-law, Carol Dykiel; nieces: Lori (Mac) Sakal, Kathy (Jim) Murchek, Nancy (Bob) Kintner; nephews: Victor (Joan) Dykiel, Tom (Therese) Dykiel;
Numerous great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Josephine Dubiel; sisters: Sophia (late Len) Connor and Michalene Dubiel; brothers: Stanley, Ollie (late Doris) and Paul Dubiel.
Alice was born and raised in East Chicago and was a 1948 graduate of Roosevelt High School. She worked at Miner-Dunn Catering in East Chicago until she began her family. She was a longtime faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish and a member of the CFU Lodge #170. Alice enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, working crossword puzzles and watching Indiana University Basketball games. Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with a time of visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Father Charles Mosley celebrant.
