Bettye Marie Ferry, age 91, of Highland, entered into the gates of heaven on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

She is survived by four granddaughters; Kimberly (Thomas) Inhausen, Kathleen (Raul) Guzman, Jacquelyn (RJ) Averilla, Jennifer (Clint) Colston; seven great grandchildren: Nicole (Tony) Carroll, Thomas (Sam) Imhausen, Chelsea (Juan) Ceja, Caitlin (Juan) Gandarilla, Angelica (Anthony) Guzman, Trever Colston, Chloe Averilla; ten great-great grandchildren: Westin, Isla, Skye, Suzi, Ivry, Mya, Juan, Jordan, Christian, Nathan; one sister, Helen (Joe) Grey; one brother, Richard (late Shirley) White; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.

 Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hesten Lee Ferry; parents, Wilbert (Helen nee Centille) White; daughter, Suzane Rocky; son, Alan Ferry; one sister, Shirley Smith.

 Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church 3425 Orchard Drive, Hammond, IN 46323. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with her nephew Pastor Scott Ferry officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.

  Bettye was born in Chicago and formerly lived in Whiting until the 70’s when she moved to Hammond. Bettye was a faithful member of Cornerstone SBC formerly Orchard Drive Baptist Church in Hammond. She loved serving the Lord in many capacities and was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister and a dear friend to many.
