Donald Powell Sr., age 90, of Hammond, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 30, 2017.
He was the loving father of Jeannie (Phil) Clark, Kathy (Randy) Clark and Don Powell, Jr. all of Hammond, and Christy (Scott) Wieringa of Villa Park, IL; adoring grandfather of Kelly Clark, Bill (Kris) Clark, David (Molly) Clark and Hannah and Timmy Wieringa; dear great grandfather of Ryan, Billy, Andrew, Noah,Nolan and Fiona; Siblings: Arthur Powell, Earnest Powell, Dora Smith, Helen Lee, Judith Satkowski, Shirley Sunderland, Sarah Bishop, Sheryl Saucedo; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosemary Powell on August 12, 2008; parents, Leo Donald and Elsie Marie Powell; brother Kenneth; sister: Betty Mattingly; sister in-law: Jane Powell; brothers in-law Lou Satkowski and Charlie Sunderland.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017

at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Don Rector officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Sunday, April 2, 2017

from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Don was a lifetime resident of  Hammond. He was a faithful Bible believing Christian and graduate of Moody Bible Institute. He was former member of Hessville Bible Church. He was a proud army veteran. Don was retired from Amoco Oil Company.

Don was a loving father, grandfather and a dear friend who will be greatly missed.
