Geraldine Lipkovitch, age 69, of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
She is survived by three sisters; Cecelia (late Jack) “Cookie” Lopez; Lorraine (Micheal) White; twin Darlene (Anthony) Pustelnik ; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, god children and dear friends.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years - Thomas Lipkovitch; mother Helen Marie Lobodzinski; Parent in laws John and Francis Lipkovitch; brother Chester Lobodzinski and sister Elaine Quintero.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church, 7113 Columbia Avenue, Hammond with Father Richard Orlinski celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John-St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Thursday, May 24th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.
Geraldine was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. She was a 1966 graduate of Gavit High School and a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hammond. Geraldine retired from CNA Insurance Company after 33 years then went on to work an additional 15 years at Strack and Van Til’s. She loved bowling with her husband Tom, shopping whenever she could and watching high school basketball sectionals. Geraldine was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, “Go Cubbies!” In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, (St. Joseph Church).
