 LaVerne Scott, age 88, of Hammond, passed into the presence of her savior peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2019. She is survived by one daughter, Wendy Scott; three sons: Nathan, Kenneth and Michael (Becky) Scott; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one brother, Walter Frank (late Violet) Orr; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. LeVerne was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Nathan M. Scott; son, Ricky Scott; parents: Leonard and Myrtle Orr; three sisters: Mamie Gargas, Mary Nell Barber and Dorothy Orr Talbot.

 A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Ferry officiating. Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).

LeVene was a native of Kentucky and also lived in Tennessee, before making her home here in Hammond in 1959. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and doing different crafts. She was always taking care of the house but mostly taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be remembered for her love of flowers and her immaculately clean home.
