Lucy L. Cheek, age 94, of Schererville, entered into the gates of heaven on Sunday, February 4, 2018.

She is survived by her sister, Cordie Towne, sister in-law, Bonnie Cheek, several nieces and nephews and numerous dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, James and Mossie Cheek; sister, Doxie Cechovic; and 3 brothers: Emil Cheek, Lonnie (Nancy) Cheek and Bonnie (Laverne) Cheek.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Life Point Church, 7350 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor’s Raymond Bocken and Orlando Soler officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.

 Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond (Hessville) on Friday, February 9,2018 from 4 p.m. -8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the service.

Lucy was born on June 3, 1923 in London, KY. She moved to the Calumet Area over 60 years ago. Lucy was a beautician and worked for Edward C. Minas Co. in Hammond. She has been a longtime faithful member of Hessville Assembly of God Church. Lucy was a wonderful Christian woman who leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion for her family and service to the Lord. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the UK Wildcats.
