Russell James Drozd Jr., age 37, of Hobart, entered into eternal rest suddenly on Sunday, October 1, 2017.

Survived by his loving mother, Janet Zarate; four children: Nicholas Drozd, Daniel Drozd, Alex Drozd and Thomas Drozd. grandmother: Rita Barbie; also loved by mant aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his father: Russell James Drozd Sr.; Grandfather: Kenneth James Drozd; Grandmother: “Dolly” Strzelczyk.

Graveside funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. DIRECTLY at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, 87th & Hamlin, Evergreen Park, IL. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Russell was formerly of Hammond. He was a brick layer who worked in the construction industry. He enjoyed fishing and camping trips and spending time with his best friend, son Thomas. Russell will best be remembered for his contagious laugh and smile.

He was a loving and devoted father, son, cousin and friend.
