William A. Duckett, age 75, of Hessville, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 30, 2018.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marlene I. Duckett (Nee Lewandowski); son, Jeffery Duckett; daughter, Valerie (Jeffry) Scriff; grandchildren: Ashley Janney, Zachary and Kyle Scriff; brothers in-law: Jack Cutshall and Raymond Lewandowski; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Golda Duckett; sister, Karen Cutshall.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church 7132 Arizona Ave. Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Charles Mosley celebrant.
Bill was a lifetime resident of the Hessville section of Hammond. He attended Hammond Tech and went on to join the Navy. Short Guy was retired from working on heavy duty trucks as a mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a passion for fishing. Bill was a very talented artist who has sold and has had works on display at Paul Henry’s Art Gallery and the Indiana Visitors Center. He and his family have served in many fund raising activities for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and will be remembered for their generosity. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church.
