Adeline B. Scheja, age 89, of Hammond entered into the gates of heaven on Friday, September 25, 2015.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including her caregivers, Cynthia and Ron Fary.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clemens A. Scheja; one son, Lynn Scheja; parents, Andrew and Wanda Kaminski; 3 sisters: Eleanor Burke, Esther Nann, Blanche Katauskas; one brother, Andy Kaminski and her devoted cat, "Lady".

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 7113 Columbia Avenue, Hammond with Father Richard Orlinski celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. There will be a time of viewing prior to the mass at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Adeline was born and raised in Calumet City, IL and had been a resident of the Hessville section of Hammond for the past 26 years. She was a faithful member of St. John Bosco Church. She retired from Republic Steel after working several years as a switchboard operator. Adeline dearly loved spending time with her great nieces and great nephews. Her life revolved around their many activities and she was never too busy to accompany them. Her favorite pastime was going shopping and she loved watching "Dancing With the Stars". Adeline was a kind and loving aunt and a dear friend to many.
