Anne Marie Knapik, age 90, entered into the gates of heaven and was reunited with her loving son, Kenneth on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Marion Knapik. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Feb. 7, 2013.
4 children: Marion Charlene (John) Kraulis,
Duane (Robin) Knapik,
Mary Sue (Cliff) Mason,
Michael Knapik;
4 grandchildren: Ted (Michele)Kraulis, Emily (Rob) Larson,
Cliff Mason IV, Sarah Mason;
2 step-grandchildren: Rick Poppa and Jennifer Hooks;
3 great-grandchildren: Jake Larson, Joshua Mason,
Alyssa Kraulis;
2 sisters: Lydia (late, John) Skorupa,
Alice (Jim) Priest;
1 brother, Frank (late, Phyllis) Pilarczyk;
Many devoted nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Antoni and Mary Pilarczyk, sister, Jane Rosinski and 2 brothers: James and Stanley Pilarczyk.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Charles Mosley celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.
Anne has been a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area and a 1940 graduate of Hammond Tech High School. She has been a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for over 65 years. Anne was a very devout catholic who loved the Lord and always found time to pray. She spent her winters in Tucson, AZ with her husband where she enjoyed crafts, artwork, making jewelry and ceramics. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and cooking for her family. Anne was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
