IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne M.
(Yaksich) Spudic
January 9, 1917 – February 8, 2015
Anne Marie Spudic
"Auntie Ann"
Hammond
Anne M. Spudic (nee, Yaksich), went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at St. Anthony Home in Crown Point.
She was a woman of strong faith, and we were blessed to have her with us on earth for 98 years.
Anne is survived by her devoted Goddaughter and caregiver,
Carole (Deacon John) Bacon of St. John;
Sister-in-law, Ann Jaksich of Hammond;
Nieces and nephews: Mary Ann (Greg) Peres of Florida,
Steve (Nancy) Jaksich of Chicago,
Kathy (Richard) Bonnersback of Hammond,
Dennis (Mary Ann) Mestrich of St. John;
Many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, John J. Spudic;
Sister, Mary Mestrich and brother, John Jaksich.
Anne never had children of her own, but was affectionately known to many as Auntie Ann. She lovingly cared for her nieces and nephews, blessing them with a "second Mom". She was a born caregiver, excellent cook and baker, resourceful gardener, and loved to crochet. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need; and from her life we learned the true meaning of putting your faith into action. Heaven is gaining an exceptional angel.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Holy trinity (Croation) Church, 4754 Carey Street in East Chicago with Rev. Theodore Mens celebrant.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff of 2D at St. Anthony Home for taking care of Anne for many years, and to the team from St. Anthony Hospice for caring for Anne in her final days. May God bless you all for your kindness to her and for bringing a smile to her face every day. Hopefully, she brought a smile to yours.
