April S. Munsie, age 45, of Highland, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
She is survived by her children: Jessica (Ryan) Jackson and Dylan Munsie;
1 grandchild, Kaiden Sheppard;
Father, Rayford (Gerry) Fortenberry;
4 sisters: Sharon (Michael) Dillon,
Michelle (Terry) McCarl,
Cindy Dewitt and Julie Olagbegi;
Many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
April was preceded in death by her mother, Maureen E. Fortenberry and her beloved husband, Jeffrey W. Munsie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev, Charles Mosley celebrant.  Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.
Friends are invited to meet with the family at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) on Sunday, January 12th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.

April was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. She was a 1986 graduate of Morton High School and a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.  April worked for Woodland Child Development as a teacher's assistant until 2007. She dearly loved children and spent most of her career working with them. She enjoyed music and loved to dance, she was always the "life of the party".  April was a sweet and loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister who will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
