Archie Joe Fisher, age 82, of Hammond passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beverly (nee, O'Brien) Fisher,
5 children: Barbara (Roger) Crisp,
Bobby Fisher,
Tony (Suemi) Fisher,
Craig Fisher and Joe Fisher;
11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren;
one brother, Bob (Beverly) Fisher;
Numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends, along with his loyal companions, his cats, "Tiger" and "Midnight"
Preceded in death by 2 sons, Archie Joe, Jr. and Michael Fisher; his parents, Jim and Maude Fisher; 3 brothers:
Oliver, James and Carl Fisher; 2 sisters, Ruth Canady and Fannie Proctor.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 21 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Deacon Duane Dedelow, Jr. officiating.  Cremation will be private.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, December 21st at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Archie was a resident of the Hammond area since 1949. He worked as a millwright with Local #1043 for over 50 years and retired in 1992. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran.
Archie was a 32nd degree mason and longtime faithful member of Garfield Lodge #569 F. &A.M. whose members will conduct a service Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Archie enjoyed fishing, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family, he dearly loved all his grandchildren.  Archie was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by all. The family of Archie Joe Fisher wish to acknowledge the generosity and kindness always shown to Archie by his brother, Bob who has always been there for him.
