Armando Flores, age 54 of Hammond passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, August 22, 2012.
He is survived by 4 children: Mando (Muraya Morales) Flores of Hammond, Tami Flores of Hammond and Jennifer Hill of North Carolina;
7 grandchildren;
Mother, Mary Flores of Hammond;
1 brother, Ricardo (Marlene) Flores of Hammond;
8 sisters: Clara Kelly of Largo, FL, Laura (Randy) Hennings of Rolling Prairie, IN, Esmeralda Garcia, Oralia (Luciano) Galvan, Lidia (Jose) Santos, Olivia (Florencio) Garza, Olga (Reynaldo) Miranda and Angelica (Kevin) Hulsey all of Hammond;
Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Flores; father, Roberto Flores, Sr.; brother, Robert Flores, Jr. and sister, Elena Gasca.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. directly at The Gate, 5670 Sohl Avenue, Hammond with Pastor Alfred Weems officiating. Burial to follow at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, August 27th at The Gate from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Armando was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area and a 1976 graduate of T. F. North High School. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and had been employed at Majestic Star Casino. He loved to play bingo, and chess. He also enjoyed bowling and cooking. Armando had a deep relationship with his brother, Ricardo. He was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother and a dear and loyal friend to many.
