Barbara A. Maroney, age 78, of Munster was peacefully called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 16, 2025, while she slept.
She is survived by her cherished children: Lee Maroney of Munster and Tom (Jean) Maroney of Chicago; loving siblings; Jenny Creasbaum of Schererville and Ed (Judy) Cunningham of Schererville; grandchildren: Amy (Brennan) Olofsson, Michael Maroney, Diane Maroney and Christine Maroney; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Maroney; parents, Ernie and Crystle Cunningham; and granddaughter, Kim Maroney.
Visitation and funeral service will be held directly at Highland First Church of the Nazarene, 9330 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, Indiana 46322. Friends may meet with the family at church on Thursday February 20, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nathan Bucholz officiating followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.
Barb was born and raised in Hammond, she attended Hammond High School and graduated in the class of 1964. She was retired from Community Hospital where she was a financial counselor. Barb enjoyed making ceramics and was former owner of Leisure Time Ceramics which was in her home in Munster. She attended Terrace Park Church of God and more recently Highland First Church of the Nazarene. Barbara will be forever remembered as a generous and giving person who was always willing to go the extra mile to help those in need. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
