Bernard P. Klekot, "Ben" age 84, of Hammond, entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2016 at his home with loving family at his side.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 61 years, Joan R.(nee, Fritz) Klekot; three children: Bruce (Kathy), Gary and Terry Klekot; three grandchildren: Jeremy Klekot, Mallorie (Brett) Hanchar, and Joshua Klekot; one brother in law, Bob (Carrie) Fritz; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: John and Bernice; three brothers: Joe, Raymond and Karl; 2 sisters: Irene and Eleanor.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) IN from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.

Ben was a Korean War Veteran and a life member of American Legion Post 330 of Calumet City. He was a Amalgamated meat cutter and meat market manager at National Tea in Woodmar until closing. He then became manager at Sterk's in Sauk Village, IL until he retired in 1992. He loved watching all sports but especially football and basketball, cheering on the Chicago Bears and Bulls. Ben enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He was a loving faithful husband, father and grandfather who was well loved by all who knew him.
