Bernice A. Glowacki, age 95 of Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Munster and Whiting passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in Arizona.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas (Mary) Parsanko of Hammond; one sister-in-law, Irene Bozek of Hammond; and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Glowacki; three sisters, Marian (late Stephen) Harangody and Josephine (late Raymond )Kozlowski, both of Hammond and Dorothy Parsanko of Whiting; five borthers, Alex and Edward Parsanko of Whiting; Leo (late Victoria) Parsanko of Cincinnati, OH; William (late Marge) Parsanko and Tony (Irene) Parsanko of Hammond.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 16, 2011, with prayers at 9:30am from Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8501 Calumet Avenue, Munster for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Yadron celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Il. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, March 15,2011, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Bernice was born in North Chicago, Il on September 15, 1915, and grew up in Whiting. She was founder and co-owner of The Fay Ette Shop in downtown Hammond with her sisters Josephine and Marian for 46 years. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Munster, member of American Legion Post #369 Womens Auxiliary in East Chicago and past president of the Munster Women's Club. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
