Betty Conroy
(Nee Hammond)

Betty Conroy (nee Hammond), age 79 of Hammond passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 5, 2017. Betty is preceded by her husband Dennis "Skip" Conroy, her parents Irene and William Hammond, brothers: Robert Hammond and John Hammond; grandchildren: Brian and Genesis Conroy.
Betty is survived by her children:  Michael Conroy, Dennis (Debbie) Conroy, Patricia (Cindy) Conroy, David (Orland  Seballos) Conroy, Timothy (Dawn) Conroy and daughter-in-law Diane (David) Gilbert; loving grandma to Ryan, Todd, Ashley, Melissa, Chris, Jason, Eric, Kayla, Andrea, Jessica, and Eric; her many great grandchildren will remember her as their "Sweetie" and a host of dear friends.
Betty was a devout member of Christian Fellowship Church in Hammond. Betty made the best oatmeal raisin cookies, gave the warmest hugs and had a way of making whoever she was with feel like the most important person in the world.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave., Hammond (Hessville) from 5-8 p.m. There will also be a time of viewing at the church on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. directly at Christian Fellowship Church, 605-165th St., Hammond with Pastor Michael Matiscik officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
Friends are invited back to the church after the Cemetery service for food and drink to Celebrate Betty's wonderful life.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to Hospice of the Calumet Area or to Christian Fellowship Church.
