Blanche Marie Williams, age 89 wife of the late, Dell Williams, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 18, 2010.

She leaves behind a legacy of three children:

Dr. Patricia Williams-Boyd of Ann Arbor, MI

six grandchildren: Scott and Steven Williams, Cathy Thompson, Caren Furdeck, Candace and Ronald Cochron eight great grandchildren; Steven, Joey, Anthony and Jack Furdeck, Nicholas (Jackie) and Cody Thompson, Cole Williams and Chloe Willliams; and three great great grandchildren, Kendra, Landon and Madison Thompson

Preceded in death by her parents; William and Lily Humphrey and one brother; Carl Humphrey

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. directly at Hessville Baptist Church, 6423 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville. Her nephew Rod Post will be conducting the celebration along with LeRoy Floyd, chairman of the deacon board. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) on Sunday, November 21 ^st from 2-4 & 6-8pm.

There will be a time of viewing at the church on Monday from 12:00 p.n. (Noon) until the time of service at 1:00p.m.

Blanche was a charter member of Hessville Baptist Church and attended faithfully for 75 years. Blanche retired from the Hammond Post Office after 25 years as a Supervisor of Support and Chief Accountant. She was a talented artist and seamstress, gardener, fisherman and a lover of animals and people. She and her sweetheart, Dell were married for 60 years and were lifelong residents of Hessville. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Hospice of the Calumet Region. Blanche passed away peacefully in her own home.
