Carlos F. Rodriguez, Sr., age 88, of Hammond, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2014.

He is survived by 5 children:

Carlos (Sandra) Rodriguez, Jr.,

Rafael (Claudia Johnson) Rodriguez,

Susana Rodriguez,

Rosemary (Michael) Rabago,

Virginia Rodriguez;

2 Grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren;

1 sister, Dolores (late, Lisandro) Rodriguez de Solis;

Numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 31 years, Belia Rodriguez in 1998; parents and 6 siblings.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).

Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Friday, September 5th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Crown Point.

Carlos was born and raised in Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and has lived in the Calumet Area for over 65 years. He retired from Inland Steel in 1985 after working 33 years. Carlos was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hammond, and for many years sang in the choir. He was a member of Inland Steel 25 Year Club and and a former member of the Masonic Lodge U.B.M.. He enjoyed boxing, billiards and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. Carlos dearly loved his family and was a kind and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed.
