Carmen D. Nieves, nee Flores-Gonzalez age 82, of the East Side and formerly South Chicago, entered into the presences of her heavenly father on Tuesday April 29,2014.

She leaves to mourn her loss five children;

Luz Maria (John) Kellis, Juan (Layla) Gonzalez, Carmen Estella (late Robert) Costello, Bernardo (Pamela) Gonzalez Jr. and Francisco Gonzalez.

Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Juan and Jacinta Flores, son Heriberto Gonzalez and numerous brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life Service will be held following her cremation on Friday May 9,2014 at 6pm from the Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Marjorie Kunch celebrant.. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Bocken Funeral Home on Friday May 9,2014 from 4 PM until 6 PM.

Carmen was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico and came to the South Chicago area in 1953. She worked in housekeeping at South Chicago Hospital for 18 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, reading her Bible, cooking and decorating her home.
