On the morning of June 24, 2015, Carole passed away peacefully at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. Carole was 68 years old. Born and raised in Woodmar, she was a 1965 graduate of Morton Senior High School. Carole was the daughter of the late John and Helen Rae and wife of the late Charles 'Chuck' Patai. Carole is survived by her son, Derek (Kristina) Patai of Chicago, IL; daughter, Darcy (Steven) Harrington of Charlotte, NC; brother, Robert Rae of Hebron, IN; granddaughter, Lexie Patai of Chicago, IL.

Carole spent many years as an Administrative Assistant in both Chicago and Northwest Indiana. She was also a Realtor in Northwest Indiana. Carole looked forward to sitting in the stands and keeping track of the drivers' speeds at Indy and loved moving to Charlotte to be in the middle of the NASCAR hub.

Carole will be ever so happy to join her parents and husband, along with aunts: Molly Summerfield, Ann Longar and Dorothy Alexander; mother-in-law, Julia Patai; grandparents, William and Margaret Buckner; her dear dogs: Hippie, Holly, Emerson, Parker and the many friends who have gone before her.

A memorial to share stories and celebrate, Carole, will take place on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Woodmar United Methodist Church 7320 Northcote Ave. Hammond, IN 46324. Burial was private at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Levine & Dickson Hospice House @ www.hpccr.org.
