Catherine Louise Haas, age 67, of Hammond passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023.

She is survived by her husband of 43 1/2 years, John Haas, two daughters: Amanda (Daniel) Haas-Sanchez and Emily Haas; granddaughter, Michigan Haas; brother, John (Claudia) Kossifos; niece and nephew, Nicholas and Jillian; and her always faithful companion, Louie, who she rescued in June 2018.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Ann Kossifos and brother, Michael Kossifos.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Private cremation to follow.

Cathy has been a resident of the Hessville neighborhood for over 36 years; she retired from the Hammond Clinic as a Surgical Technician. She enjoyed crafts like making jewelry and Diamond Dotting, tending to her plants, reading, and listening to classical and 70's pop music. Cathy simply loved being a wife, mother and grandmother who selflessly poured herself into her girls, Amanda, Emily, and Michigan. As a wife she was never demanding and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
