Celia Grace Standridge, age 83, of Highland, entered into the gates of Heaven on Friday, December 19, 2014.
She is survived by 4 children: Allen (Diana) Standridge,
Cheryl (Jack) Hill,
Anita (Jeff) Lahners and Craig (Starr) Standridge;
16 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Rachel, Adam, Hannah, Leah, Isaiah, Luke, Samuel, Susanna, Sophia, Matthew, Christina, Kevin, Thomas, Zachary and Kenny;
10 great grandchildren;
5 sisters: Annette Waite, Joyce (Harold) Abbey,

Priscilla (Kenneth) Newman, Freida (Fred) Milliman, Susan (David) Thompson;
close family friends, Paul and Paula Limato;
many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death her beloved husband of 61 years, Pastor Fred Standridge; parents, Russell and Jeanette Young and one grandson, Daniel.
Funeral Services and Praise Gathering for Believers will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. directly at Calvary Baptist Church, 2945 New Jersey Street, Lake Station with Rev. Ben Devine, Rev. Paul Limato and Rev. Don Rector officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, December 26th at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  and also at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Celia was born and raised in Randolph, N.Y. and has been a resident of the Calumet Area for over 36 years. She shared the love of Christ as a Home Aide for Companion Care and as a preschool teacher for a number of years. Celia faithfully served the Lord along side her husband, Pastor Fred as he began his ministry in the 1960's when he was the youth pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Highland. Then together they went on to plant the Faith Baptist Church in Kokomo, IN where they ministered for 17 years. For the past 12 years Celia has been part of Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Station.
Celia enjoyed camping and traveling with her family to visit state parks. She was a wonderful wife, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and prayer warrior. Memorials may be made to the family.
