Charles Ivan Hillard, age 49, of Hammond, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

He is survived by his children: Joshua Homans and Jessica Hillard and their mother Tammy Hillard.

one grandchild, Deklann Homans; two brothers: Ryan and Tim Hillard; sister, Donna Hillard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Martha Hillard; his son, Justin Hillard; two grandchildren: May'c and Layla; one brother, Chad Hillard.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Noon at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond.

Ivan was a lifetime resident of Hammond and was a 1989 graduate of Hammond High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran; and was employed as an electrician at Arcelor Mittal Steel since 1994. Ivan was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan "Go Cubbies". He was a loving dad, grandpa, uncle and friend.
