Christie Lyn Jones, age 38, of Lake Station, entered into the gates of heaven on Sunday, September 7, 2014.

She is survived by two daughters:

Stormi (Travis) Miller,

Casey (Aaron Campbell) Jones;

One son, Mikey Truckey;

Grandson, Austyn Miller;

Fiancé, Bill Ketchum;

mother, Nancy Jones;

brother: Don (Melissa) Steuart ;

sister, Shannyn (Paul) O'Danovich;

uncles: Don (Sandi) Pierce and Larry Meeks;

aunts: Cindy (Ted) Weatherup and Estelle Miller and

many cousins.

close friends, Angie Hensen, Layla Lewis, Brandon and Dan.

Preceded in death by her father, Virgil Meeks; brothers: Donald Jones and Virgil Meeks, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Joe Anweiler, officiating.  Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Christie has been a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area and a 1995 graduate of Calumet High School. She attended Cline Gardens Christian Church in Hessville. She was a member of the Hobart Jaycee's and a volunteer at the Humane Society.  Christie had a tremendous passion for all animals. She was the founder of "We Are their Voice"; an animal rescue group for animals in need. Christie was a waitress and bartender at several local restaurants. She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister and a dear friend to many who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
