Christopher Andrew Alfaro, age 31, of Hammond passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

Chris is survived by his parents: Rafael J. and Loretta M. (nee Razo) Alfaro; two sisters: Monica and Vanessa Alfaro; two nieces: Samara Kelm and Julyssa Sullivan; nephew, Austin Sullivan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Manuel (Celia) Razo; paternal grandparents: Andres (Maria) Alfaro.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Richard Orlinski officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Chris was a life long resident of the Hammond area. He was a 2007 graduate of Gavit High School and graduated from Indiana University Northwest in 2012. He loved skateboarding and photography but most of all spending time with family and friends. Chris was also a sports fan who cheered on the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks; N.Y. Rangers and Indiana Colts. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
