Christopher Joseph Lukacek, age 48 of Hessville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 23, 2012.
He is survived by his loving father, John M. Lukacek;
2 brothers: Mark (Tammy) Lukacek and Timothy Lukacek;
1 sister, Mary Lukacek;
1 niece, Felicia Long;
3 nephews: Andrew, Mark and Matthew Lukacek;
Special friend, Robin;
Numerous cousins and a host of friends.
Preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Marie Lukacek, (nee, Walczak) and one brother, John F. Lukacek.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, September 26th at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Chris was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area and was a 1982 graduate of Morton High School. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the 82nd Airbrone Division Paratroopers, having served in Operation Desert Storm and the Invasion of Grenada. Chris was employed as a utilities technician at Arcelorittal Steel Company for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Hessville Eagles, Calumet Ridge Moose Lodge and the NRA. He loved the outdoors; hunting and fishing were his passion. Chris was a wonderful son, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed.
