Clementina Cadena, age 76 of Highland, formerly of Gary passed away peacefully on Monday November 7, 2011 to join her beloved husband, Manuel.
She is survived by her 5 loving children: Alfred (Iris) Cadena of East Chicago; Alicia (Carlos) Pantoja of Highland; Arturo Cadena of Gary; Adan (Hope) Cadena of Gary and Abel (Laura) Cadena of South Bend;
7 grandchildren: Alfred (Edith); Priscilla (fiancee Rick); Mario, (fiancee, Magali); Nicolette; Victor; Gabrielle and Alexander;
5 great grandchildren: Arturo, Anelisa, Aaliyah, Mario Jr and Audrianna; 2 adopted grandchildren: Eviana and Yalissa; adopted granddog, "Lulu Belle":
sister, Hilda Gonzalez; brother, Elmo Gallegos:
2 brothers-in-law: Fernando Cadena and Antonio (Eva) Cadena;
Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Manuel G. Cadena; son, Arnoldo; parents, Corando and Marcella Gallegos and 2 brothers Oscar and Roland Gallegos.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville), with Fr. Alfred Dettmer, officiating. Burial will follow at St. John –St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, November 10,2011 at Bocken Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
Clementina has been a resident of the the Calumet Area since the age of 19. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed gambling and playing Bingo. Clementina was an exceptional person who loved to laugh and have fun. She formerly attended the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Gary. Clementina loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildern, She was always very loving and kindhearted and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
