Clyde Roger "Waddy" Fowler age 96, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his two sons: Terry Fowler of Prescott, AZ and Roger Fowler of Hammond;
grandson, Steven Fowler of Hammond;
several nieces and nephews
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Fowler; 2 brothers, Garland "Buzz" and Ward L. Fowler and his parents, Clyde L. and Lucille Fowler.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor James Thomson officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville where Clyde will be laid to rest next to his dear wife, Dorothy. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the funeral home from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Waddy was born in Hammond on August 3, 1914 and was a graduate of Hammond High School. He grew up in North Hammond and was a longtime resident of the Hessville section. Waddy retired from I.H.B. Rail Road in 1976 after working as a freight agent for many years. He was a member of Hammond Moose Lodge where he held the Pilgrim Degree. Waddy was a kind and loving man who always had a ready smile and a kind word. He was loved by all who knew him and he made the world a better place.
