Cynthia L. Hanish, Cindy age 67, of Hammond, was called into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, David A. Hanish; parents: Billie and Dorothy Carter; brother in-law: John (Dorothy) Hanish; sister in-law: Darlene McHugh; several nieces, nephews, and many friends including her companion, Angel the kitty.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Elder Russell Smiddy officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Monday, March 27, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Cindy was born in Lafayette, IN on March 24, 1949 and has made her home in Hessville for the past 62 years. She had worked at Indiana Bell, Union Carbide in Whiting, Almira's Bakery in Hessville and most recently enjoyed being a homemaker and caregiver to her parents. Cindy was a faithful member of Cline Gardens Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and decorating her home inside and out for each holiday. Cindy was a loving wife, daughter and caregiver, who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
