Daniel Lee Young, age 49 of Hessville, passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, January 23, 2011.

He is survived by his son, Evan Young and daughter,

Emma Young both of Munster;

mother, Wilma (Bob) Young Griffin of Hessville;

2 brothers, Vernal Fred (Joan) Young, Jr. of Dyer,

Dale Robert Young of Munster;

niece, Jackie (Jon) Burkhardt of St. Louis, MO;

nephew, Kevin Young of Dyer;

Several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Vernal Fred Young in 1980 and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue Hammond (Hessville) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7137 Arizona Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Father Charles Mosley celebrant. Burial will follow at Demotte Cemetery in Demotte, IN

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, January 27th from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Danny was a loving and devoted father, son and brother. His children came first in his life, they were #1. Danny was a lifetime resident of the Hessville section of Hammond a 1979 graduate of Morton High School and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. For the past 7 years he has been a carpet technician employed at Boyle's Superior Carpet Cleaners. Danny was a loyal Chicago Bears fan, avid cook, loved to entertain and was a movie buff. He will truly be missed.
