Darlene F. Varshal, age 71 of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on, Friday, July 22, 2011.
She is survived by one son, Dean J. Varshal of Hammond.
1 brother: William (Janet) Smith of Plymouth, IN.
1 sister In law Joan Smith, St. John, IN
Nephews Edward and Kenneth (Kathy) Pugh, great nephew Benjamin Pugh and several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her daughter In Law Diane Varshal, parents Henry and Marie Smith, Sister; Anna Marie (Quinter "Bud' ) Pugh, and Brother; William Smith.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville), Dan Nichols Minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, July 28th at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville), IN from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m..
Dee was a lifetime resident of Hammond. She was retired from David A. Noyes brokerage firm in 2010 after 31yrs of service. She was a past state bowling champ and had enjoyed Wednesday night ladies bowling at Pin Bowl. Dee also enjoyed golfing with her son Dean and was a Chicago Bears and Sox fan. She was a very loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.
