"Big Dave"

Hammond David C. West, age 50, of Hammond passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday February 20, 2019.

Big Dave is survived by three children: Amanda (Adriel) Ruiz, Matthew West and Erin West; three grandchildren: Braylon Osorio, Brielle Ruiz and Seth Ruiz; ex-wife Christine (David) Fleming, and his furry companion "Wolfie".                                                                        Preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Joseph Angelini.

A Memorial Visitation to honor his life will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Friends may meet with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. cremation was private.

Big Dave was born in Chicago and grew up in East Chicago, IN. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1986. Dave followed all the East Chicago High, sports teams and enjoyed participating on Dart Leagues in the area. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and cried when he watched them win the World Series. He enjoyed spending time with, and spoiling his children and grandchildren. Big Dave was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be sadly missed by many.
