David Bruce Douglass, age 51 of Portage formerly of Hammond, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, January 12, 2011.

He is survived by his father, Merle D. Douglass

1 sister, Sherry J. Douglass

loving companion, Judy Kirkland

adopted daughter, Jaylssa Guzman

aunt, Ruby Snyder, several cousins and many dear friends

Preceded in death by his mother, Norma Douglass and his grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday evening, January 19 ^th from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00pm. David was born and raised in Hammond and attended Hammond Tech High School. He was employed as a truck driver for C.M. Trucking in Chesterton. David loved riding his Harley. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
