David Gordon Edwards, age 48, of Hessville, IN passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, March 5, 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Sylvia Edwards (Nee Van Der Sluis),
Two son's David Alan Edwards and Ozzie Gordon Edwards. His parents Gordon and Joella Edwards, One brother Dale (Carol) Edwards and One sister Catherine Ganza. Numerous brothers and sisters in law, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by two sons Kyle and Keith Edwards.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 10am at the Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Bocken Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 4pm-8pm.
David was born in Kankakee, IL, and grew up in Sauk Village, and attended Bloom High School. He and Sylvia have made their home in Hessville for the past 24 years. David was employed at Community Hospital in the environmental department, and previously worked for 20 years in the maintenance department at United Rail in East Chicago, IN. David was a loving and devoted husband and father, he was a fan of the Chicago Bears and his passions included fishing, spending time with his family, playing Wii and watching the Three Stooges.
